All progress in research innovation needs to make its way to diabetes care.  We want to provide the best care available for people living with diabetes and other endocrine conditions.  We offer care for people with diabetes and specialized areas including pediatrics, gestational, and diabetes and pregnancy.  We want The Center to be able to help people with diabetes in all aspects of their life.

 

PEDIATRIC CARE

Jordan Pinsker, MD, who recently joined the team here at the William Sansum Diabetes Center, runs the Pediatric Diabetes Clinical Service for children and adolescents. Dr. Pinsker’s focus with the diabetes clinic is on the use of advanced technologies to help children and families with diabetes care. He offers consultation and teaching on:

  • Insulin pump use
  • Continuous glucose monitors
  • Other advanced technologies for diabetes care

DIABETES AND PREGNANCY

Kristin Castorino, D.O. has been an integral part of the team here at the William Sansum Diabetes Center and will be continuing to provide specialized care for diabetes and pregnancy. Her focus will be on seeing patients who:

  • Have pre-pregnancy questions
  • Have just found out they are pregnant and have diabetes
  • Are at risk for gestational diabetes
  • Want postpartum advice and insight
  • Are referrals from OB providers for care of gestational diabetes

The goal is to provide extra support to the patient and obstetrician in the pregnancy to ensure the health of both the mother and child. Dr. Castorino has special interest in an integrated approach to health and wellness.

 

Bilingual services available. Appointments offered within 1 week. The Center also provides similar services at the Santa Barbara Health Care Center as part of their women’s health services on Tuesdays from 1 pm – 5 pm.
